As a village, Krześlice was first mentioned in 1396, along with the name of one Piotr de Crzyślice. The family name changed several times in the course of centuries, and would be spelled Krzyślica, Krzyślice and Crislicze. Gilly-Cron's map of South Prussia of 1803 uses the name Krzyszlica.
